Briana Grupp is an artist from Berlin studying at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. She is in the class for abstract painting under the direction of Michaela Eichwald.
Her work is inspired by rooms and settings that feel as though they already belong to the past—spaces that seem to have lived a story. This is what fascinates Briana and draws her deeper into her practice. She uses antique linen textiles from France and Italy as her canvas, as well as sewing leftover fabric into her pieces and transforming them with oil paint into elements in her work.
She is based in Vienna, Austria.
